Thoughts on Learning

The below is some of the things I have come to believe about learning, media, and the intersection of creativity and business. If you’d like to discuss any of these ideas in more detail, or discuss how they can apply to your business, please get in touch.

  1. Great content requires great structure.

  2. Every product is a promise.

  3. More experts should make cartoons.

  4. The best education is an invitation.

  5. There are only three kinds of learning.

  6. Most people (including your customers) need you to tell them what to do.

  7. You don’t own what you make.

  8. But IP is critical.

  9. Quality doesn’t matter.

  10. Quality is the only thing that matters.

  11. Live by a river, own a tractor. (Incentive alignment is the key to any learning business.)

  12. Collaboration Rule 1: Start with what you agree with.

  13. Collaboration Rule 2: The more jobs you’ve done, the more people will respect you.

  14. Collaboration Rule 3: Get into the same room.

  15. Collaboration Rule 4: Make the most generous assumption.

  16. Collaboration Rule 5: Crystalize.
